An introduction……
The Coaches Commission is charged with the responsibility to develop the sport of volleyball by focussing on issues to do with coaching and coach education, and by so doing encourage increased participation in, and membership of the SVA.

The Coaches Commission is also responsible for the structure, management and ongoing evaluation of the Long Term Player Development Pathways, which includes the National Team Programmes. The Coaches Commission is a strategic development group, but it’s also a practical group which not only forms action plans, it also produces results.

The Commission members are;

The Commission meets on a semi regular basis, and has a continuous and very active Email exchange.

The focus for the actions which are taken to try and achieve the Commission’s stated aims, have to be targeted at promoting specific aspects of the SVA development plan. The Coaches Commission has to work to improve the education and development of our coaches, has to help support and develop the National Team Programmes, but also has to help achieve the overall aims for the SVA Development Plan.

The recent successes of the Coaches Commission include the introduction of the Coach Registration scheme, the development of the series of clinics for coach’s CPD , the introduction of the Fast Track Programme, and the development of the UKCC level I volleyball course.
