East Kilbride Primary Festival

On Thursday March 13th over 300 primary students came to the John Wright Sport Centre in East Kilbride for what turned out to be our biggest primary festival to date.

There were 11 courts of 8 boys teams and 10 courts of 8 girls teams spread out over 3 halls. In total there were 168 teams participating!  The morning session was hectic but there was some excellent volleyball being played and the kids were having a blast.

A huge thank you to Lesley Stewart for all her efforts and to all the Calderglen pupils who came to help out on the day – thanks for all your hard work. The festival would not have run without you.  And final a big thanks to all the players, teachers and coaches that participated on the day; Newton Primary, Queensferry, Kirkliston, Our lady of Lourdes, St. Leonards, Mount Cameron, Belmont House, Heathery Knowe, and Halfmerke.

Newton Primary topped the pools in Section 1 for both boys and girls, while Kirkliston took top honours for boys and girls in section 2, so congratulations to them for displaying some truly excellent volleyball.
