SVA Student Commission

The SVA Student Commission exists:

"to facilitate and develop volleyball participation, competition and development within further and higher education within Scotland”

The Commission meets three times a year to consider the strategic development of student volleyball in Scotland.  The work of the Commission compliments the ongoing development work carried out by the Development Co-ordinators for Scottish Universities Men and Women’s Volleyball.

 

Key Student Commission Actions for 2008/09:

  • All student teams playing within the Scottish Universities Sport (SUS) leagues, will be required to have their coaches registered with the SVA (in-keeping with SVA policy).
  • An audit of student volleyball will take place, concluding by the end of October, to provide a full picture of the level of activity within universities this season.
  • Student content for the new SVA web site will be pro-actively sought and kept  “live” and up-to-date. 
  • Delivery of a participation event to engage FE students will take place in Glasgow and Edinburgh in the New Year.
