Beach Volleyball Referees Courses 2010

Do you want to get involved in officiating Beach Volleyball, either helping out on the Scottish Tour or perhaps taking it further and officiating at the Olympics in 2012?

Olympic Beach Volleyball

If either of these appeals to you, then now is the time to get yourself onto the Beach Volleyball Referees Courses planned for 22nd and 23rd May. For this weekend we have secured the services of the hugely experienced beach volleyball referee, Jeff Brehaut. Having refereed two Olympic Beach Volleyball finals, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn from the best.

22nd May – Grade 4 Beach Referees Course
Venue – East Sands, St  Andrews (map link here)
Cost – £20

23rd May – Grade 3 Beach Referees  Course
Venue – Portobello Beach, Edinburgh (map link here)
Cost – £20 (£10 discount if you attend the Grade 4  the day before)

In addition, the SVA have agreed that £2 be paid to every qualified Grade 4 Beach Volleyball Referee who is first official for a match on centre court at any of the Scottish Tour events, so get qualified and make a bit of money, even if you are a player!

There are also opportunities to score or linejudge at the Olympics in London 2012, in Beach Volleyball, Volleyball or Sitting Volleyball. If you want to participate, then NOW is the time to put your name forward to the Referees Commission, as the door will be closing shortly. To be a linejudge or scorer in Beach Volleyball at the Olympics, there is a requirement to be at least a Grade 4 Beach Volleyball Referee.

You can enrol in either or both of these courses now and/or put your name forward for consideration for the Olympics by contacting the SVA Office on 0131 556 4633 or by email. Quickly though as places are filling up!
