After a series of practice and development sessions, which have featured players from across the length and breadth of Scotland, the UKSG Staff are delighted to announce the final selections for the 2010 Games which will be held in Newcastle in September.
Many congratulations are due to the athletes who have been selected, and a note of commiseration to those who contributed hugely to the selection process, but finally missed out. The standard of performance this year was very high, and the numbers participating was the highest we have ever had. The selection process is the most difficult part of the exercise, and all of the staff involved agonised over the final decisions. For those who were not selected, go back to your schools and clubs, work hard, and note the dates for next year’s programme – then come back better and stronger!
The next stage in the process is the team development programme – information on this will be mailed to all players. For parents and friends who might be thinking of travelling to Newcastle to support our squads the dates are Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th September – venue Northumbria University Sport Central.
