Scottish student volleyball recognised the huge amount of work carried out by its large volunteer base recently when the Greg Gotfryd of Aberdeen University Volleyball Club was presented with his award as Scottish Student Volunteer of the Year for 2009/10.
The award recognises the importance of volunteering effort in driving student volleyball within tertiary education and is decided upon by the SVA Student Commission following nominations from student clubs.
Greg, formerly President of AUVC, has worked tirelessly in developing activity within the Aberdeen University club and clearly his commitment has been valued by his fellow club members who nominated him. Greg was presented with his award before the recent fixture against Dundee University, allowing his fellow students to acknowledge his achievement.
