London 2012 Volleyball Tickets

“When we stage the Olympics it will inspire kids all over the country. A kid in Scotland or Ireland will be encouraged to take up sport.”

-Daley Thompson, Olympic Gold Medallist: Decathlon. Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984

The Olympic Games are once more coming to London, for the first time since 1948. It will likely be at least another 64 years until it returns, and as of today (20th January), we are a mere 554 days away from the opening ceremony.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, particularly on the back of the BOA announcement that Team GB will include both men’s and women’s indoor volleyball, despite extensive cuts faced by the sport in previous years. And don’t forget the high profile beach event: a 15,000 capacity stadium in Horse Guards Parade (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12193432).

Applications for tickets to these events, and for all other sports showcased in 2012, will open on Tuesday 15 March 2011 for six weeks, closing again on Tuesday 26 April 2011 at 11.59pm. Tickets during this time are not allocated on a first come, first serve basis but this will be the best opportunity to get the tickets you want! This process will allow you to choose tickets by price category, set a minimum and maximum price you are willing to pay and allow accessibility requirements to be met.

To apply, visit www.tickets.london2012.com or the official ticketing guide and application form available on the high street from March 15. Hospitality and travel packages are available via Thomas Cook, Prestige Ticketing and Jet Set Sports. These are the only official vendors of tickets and none will be available through the SVA.

See you there!
