The first ever JNL Autumn Cup took place at Ravenscraig 
Regional Sports Facility on Sunday 18 September 2011.
The purpose of the day was for the SVA to provide a free one day pre-season tournament for all teams who had entered JNL and allow the coaches to network, for the players to make connections and for teams to demonstrate that they can field a squad prior to the season starting proper.
It was refreshing to see new teams from Kilmarnock who have entered JNL for the first time and many new faces joining existing teams. Players were excited to be back to Volleyball and what better way to kick off the season than with a competition! Feedback from the players was that they had a brilliant day and were ’buzzing’ for the league to begin, and coaches advised that they found the day exceptionally valuable to bed down their teams and assess the standard across the groups.
Congratulations to the City of Edinburgh VC who were proud winners of the U16 Girls, U16 Boys and U19 Boys categories and an equally huge well done to the following teams for their participation:

Thank you to everyone who worked hard to get their teams there and to the players for their smiles and enthusiasm and I wish all JNL teams a productive and successful competition ahead and I look forward to seeing you all during the season.
