The School Games staff are delighted to announce the final 
selection for the Sainsbury’s 2012 School Games in London.
Following open practice sessions which have featured players from across Scotland, many congratulations are due to the athletes who have been selected. However, for those who did not make selection on this occasion, their valuable contribution at the trials must be recognised and the excellent standard displayed by all resulted in extremely difficult decisions for the coaching staff to make selections. To those players, please continue to be involved in Volleyball and take advantage of every chance to train and play to ensure that you are better and stronger when the next opportunity comes along.
The next stage in the process is the team preparation phase with the first session on Sunday 19 February 2012 – venues are Linlithgow Academy for East and North Boys and Girls, Coltness HS for West and South Boys and Marr College for West and South Girls.
For any friends or family wishing to travel to London to support our squads, the competition takes place from early on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th May, therefore squads will travel Sunday 6th May. Wednesday 9th May will provide athletes with the opportunity to support Track Cycling, Athletics and/or Swimming competitions in Olympic Park followed by the closing ceremony – Team Managers will pass information to parents as to how they can obtain tickets for this fantastic day, however make sure that you request tickets for the Volleyball event when going through players’ online registration.
