As you may be aware, Orkney Volleyball Association (OVA) are celebrating their 20th anniversary year and we want you to celebrate this with us! The day to keep free is Saturday 12th May 2012 in Kirkwall, Orkney.
Firstly, we will be holding a 4v4 tournament at the Pickaquoy Centre from 12 noon where you are invited to enter your own team. Your team can be any gender/ability/age and fancy dress and banter are heavily encouraged so get yourself involved! The cost of entering a team will be £10 and there will be prizes for the winning teams.
If you would like to submit a team, then could you email orkneyvolleyball@hotmail.co.uk with the members of your team before 1st May. If you can’t enter a team but would like to be involved in the competition, then email us your name and we will allocate you a team for the day. Spread the word to anyone else you think would be interested in a fun day of volleyball.
As if the day couldnt get any better, there will be a special comeback gig from ‘The Stereo Lobsters’ to help us celebrate in style on Saturday evening. For those who don’t know, the Stereo Lobsters are one of Orkney’s most in demand bands and you are guaranteed to dance the night away. The band have been on ‘maternity leave’ and have been missed by their many fans so we expect this to be a busy night! Because of the expected demand and limited capacity, this will be a ticket only event with tickets costing just £7 each. The gig will be in Matchmakers Nightclub and doors open at 9pm for over 18’s only. If you would like tickets to this gig then email orkneyvolleyball@hotmail.co.uk and we will arrange the distribution of tickets for you. Those involved in the 4v4 tounament will get first dibs on the Stereo Lobster tickets.
