Scots seek success in championship challenge

Scotland’s Senior Men travel to Luxembourg this week in their latest European adventure, with the qualifying round for the 2013 CEV European Championship – Small Countries Division.

The Thistles face up to the challenge of Faroe Islands, Ireland, Northern Ireland and hosts Luxembourg in their bid to win a spot in the finals, to be played in Cyprus next year.

The hopes and dreams of the nation lie in the hands of the following team selection:

The team will be captained by Stuart Edgar, who edges ever-closer to Iain Grubb’s all-time record of caps won, while there are first-time callups for Alistair Green and Tom Young in a new-look squad showing five changes from the team which finished 4th in the last championships, in Andorra 12 months ago.

It is hoped to have live ball-by-ball commentry on the SVA Facebook page, while the scores will also be carried on the CEV website.
