W1 v Dundee 11.30 FBS

The women’s 1st team have made a fair start to their first year return to the top flight. The team is led by Kalina Kasprzyk, who made to BUCS five times during her university time, and Paul Glissov, a GB international player. They lost their opening match at home on October 7th against the University of St.Andrews, current Scottish Universities Championships winner, but managed to win three straight sets to edge the University of Glasgow at their venue last weekend. For the Sunday’s match against the University of Dundee, who sit bottom of the league table, the aim is of course to have a comfortable win in front of a large home crowd support, and keep their hope to earn a top-three spot of the table for the BUCS Championships play-off round.

BUCS Scottish 1A Men- Day 3, Sunday 21 October 2012, CSE

Men’s 1st v Dundee 13.30

The reigning champions are maintaining their 100% record after beating St.Andrews and Glasgow, both 3 sets to 0. 6 out of 11 players in the squad are those who experienced the BUCS Championships 3rd place success in Sheffield last season. Jason Ebbin, Jamie McHardy and Ross Kirkwood are the key players to watch as they were recently called up to represent their respective national team. The Green Army should be the favourites to beat Dundee University Volleyball Club (DUVC) this weekend. It will be an exciting match to watch especially for Graeme Spowart, Edinburgh Men’s 1st team coach, who is a DUVC alumnus.
