School Festival Programme Serves-Off

Glasgow S4/5/6 Schools Festival

The School volleyball festival season served-off with the 1st senior competition at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow. It was great to see first time appearances at the festival from Woodfarm, Penicuik and Castlehead High Schools. A great atmosphere was created by the pupils, teachers and coaches, with lots of competitive matches played.

In the boy’s competition, Penicuik HS made it into the top pool at the first time of asking. This pool contained no less than 3 teams from Belmont Academy and it was Belmont Academy A that went on to defend their title.

Belmont AcademyMarr College made a similar impact in the girl’s competition with 3 girls teams competing. It was Marr College A who came out on top to retain their trophy.

A big thank you is owed to Greg Coburn for running the event, Glasgow Life and to all teachers and helpers who endeavored to bring their teams to the event and continue to produce such excellent volleyball programmes in their respective schools. Well done to everyone involved especially the players who created such a good atmosphere in the hall.

Next up on the National School Festival Calendar is Grangemouth for S2/3 on Tuesday 20th November
