Next week sees the biggest events in the school volleyball calendar as the finalists of the three age groups meet at Coatbridge HS to contest the Scottish Schools Cup Final.
The girls finals will be held on TUESDAY 12th MARCH
P7/S1 – Stonelaw vs Marr College – 4pm
S2/3 – Kyle Academy vs Marr College – 5pm
S4/5/6 – Belmont Academy vs Marr College – 6pm
The boys finals will be held on THURSDAY 14th MARCH
P7/S1 – Stonelaw vs Kyle Academy/Williamwood – 4pm
S2/3 – Kyle Academy vs Belmont Academy – 5pm
S4/5/6 – Mearns Castle vs Belmont Academy – 6pm
The girls finals is dominated by the presence of three Marr College teams, traditionally strong in this competetion but Stonelaw, Kyle and Belmont will be looking to produce the goods on the day and take back the trphy to their respective the schools.
Expect great competition in the boys competition. The highlight of the evening may turn out to be the senior final. Mearns Castle and Belmont Academy both go into this game with lots of confidence overcomnig tricky ties against
Great credit has to go to the lead teachers of the respective schools; Helen McGibbon, Jess Reid, Thomas McMahon, Alan Byrne, Colin Giles and Gerry Philips who continue to dedicate a great deal of time into their school volleyball programmes and hopefully these finals day provide their pupils with a great experience.
