The Scottish Volleyball Association regrets to announce the resignation of Jen Downs as President of the Special Events Commission. The SVA staff and Board would like to sincerely thank her for the many years of dedication. During her time on the Commission, Jen has ensured the delivery of high quality events to our members.
Jen has been an outstanding servant to the Commission, leading on many big events such as numerous finals weekends, the Small Countries European Championships at Ravenscraig and also the International Children’s Games in Wishaw. Jen used all this knowledge gained to experience and deliver the spectacle that was London 2012 in which she was in charge of the Olympic Volleyball Equipment. Jen leaves behind a very good legacy of events and highly trained volunteers wishing to continue in their roles within Scottish Volleyball.
Because of this resignation, we now are recruiting for the role of President of the Special Events Commission. The role consists of the following:

Conducts Commission meetings |
|
|
Represents the commission as the main contact for the SVA |
|
|
Represents the Commission at meetings of the SVA and at other meetings at the request of the President/CEO of the SVA; |
|
|
Co-ordinates the activities of the Commission as a whole; |
|
|
Authorises grants and expense claims as required to facilitate the work of the commission |
|
|
Reports to the Board and to the members of the Association at the AGM annual Report; |
|
|
Acts as the main liaison with other Commissions; |
