Brian McDougall – Technical Official of the Year

The sportscotland Coaching Awards were launched in 2010 with 6 Brian McDougalldifferent categories, and last year the awards were renamed to reflect the addition of three new categories from officiating and volunteering.

We are delighted to be able to annouce our 2013 sportscotland Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering Award winners and extend a huge congratulations to them all. Read about Brian below and check back soon for more details on their fantastic work!

Brian McDougall has been involved in volleyball for 28 years, first as a player and now as a referee. Having travelled the world to gain the experience of officiating at top level matches, Brian achieved his dream this year of refereeing at the London 2012 Olympics. Brian also volunteers in his free time at his local community volleyball club, whilst also volunteering for the Scottish Volleyball Association, appointing referees to the national leagues for men and women. In addition, Brian is an active member of the SVA referees commission.
