Scottish Volleyball gives Remembrance!

Frances DoonanFrances Doonan sadly passed away, Saturday 9th November 2013.

It is with deepest regret that the Scottish Volleyball Association has to announce the very sad death of a valued past member of our Association.

Frances Doonan is a lifelong volleyball supporter. She was an outstanding club and Scottish International player and was for many years the General Secretary for the Scottish Volleyball Association.

SVA Chief Executive Margaret Ann Fleming paid tribute to Frances saying “Frances was a well known and popular friend within Scottish Volleyball. Frances was an outstanding player of her generation, a person who loved her sport and the people she played with. Frances shall always be remembered for her fighting competitive spirit and her playing intelligence. Frances’ death has upset everyone who knew her and our thoughts and sincere condolences are with her family and friends at this very sad time”

Frances will be sadly missed.

Mass at St John the Baptist R.C. Church, 37 St Ninian’s Rd, Corstorphine, Edinburgh, EH12 8AL will take place at 11am on Tuesday, 19th November 2013. Thereafter at Mount Vernon cemetery at approximately 12.45 pm to which all are invited.
