Regional Development Day 1

There is an exciting opportunity for junior athletes to get some additional coaching on a regional basis.  The SVA are running Regional Development Days, which are designed to increase participation in the entry levels of Regional Volleyball and to create a new platform for coaching education.

The identified age groups are for boys under 17 and for the girls under 16 in order to influence on the numbers progressing into representation squads for the Sainsbury’s School Games. Athletes will make most progress if they attend all 3 sessions, but it is also possible to attend 1 or 2 of the sessions, for anyone not available for all 3.  The SVA is sponsoring this development opportunity, so there is no cost payable by the athlete. All levels and abilities are welcome

These development days can be an excellent vehicle for coaching education .The identified junior coaches will be working along the side of the coaching manager and the regional development officers reflecting on the following areas

•    Developing ball control
•    Serve receive
•    Attacking skills

The plan outcome is that after these development days is to have a competitive outlet of a triangular competition between the 3 regions
