Scots try to write their own piece of Mythology in Greece

Round 4 of the Continental Cup takes place next weekend on 5-6 September 2015 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Alongside top seeds Greece, the Scots will also face Finland and Azerbaijan in what will be their toughest challenge yet on the Road to Rio 2016.

The Scotland squad successfully qualified for this round after a fantastic victory over Bulgaria in Baden, Austria. Due to family commitments, Head Coach Ioannis Panayiotakis has stepped down but will be replaced by experienced coach Colin Paterson. The squad have been training hard and welcome new additions to the squad in the shape of Beach Volleyball Scotland Tour winner Catherine Smy and 2012 Indoor Volleyball Olympian Joanne Morgan. They are welcomed by Scotland’s Number 1 pairing of Melissa Coutts and Lynne Beattie, who performed heroics in Baden, and have also been competing heavily on the Volleyball England Tour and CEV Satellite stage.

After long deliberation, the squad selected for Round 4 of the Continental Cup is:

Lynne Beattie & Melissa Coutts
Catherine Smy & Joanne Morgan

Reserve: Jennifer Thom

Head Coach: Colin Paterson
