SVL Week 2

The SVL returns after a week’s break and will now see the introduction of the new triangular series in Women’s League 1 and Men’s League 2.

SVL Premier

City of Glasgow Ragazzi will be looking to make amends for their defeat to South Ayrshire 2 weeks ago when they entertain Edinburgh Jets at Coltness, while South Ayrshire do battle with Glasgow Mets conquerors NUVOC. The Final match will see City of Edinburgh hosting Mets, with the hope they will maintain their 100% record.

Su Ragazzi look to have a tough home match on the cards as they host Edinburgh Jets. An excellent match took place in pre-season which ended up as a 1 -1 contest. City of Edinburgh will square off against Aberdonia who will be looking to recover from their opening day defeat. Their conquerors NUVOC travel to Prestwick to take on QTS Troon in what will be a hotly contested match.

SVL 1

Bellshill overcame Lenzie in a midweek match 3-0, which means both teams have the weekend off. City of Edinburgh II will host Bon Accord in what will be a tough match for the team. Finally, Su Ragazzi II will take on Dundee. This could be a crucial match come the end of the season.

The triangulars in the Women’s SVL 1 commence with Su Ragazzi II hosting Glasgow International and new side Ayrshire College to Carluke High School. Edinburgh Jets II kick off their promotion chasing campaign against newcomers University of Edinburgh and Caledonia West, and finally NUVOC II entertain South Ayrshire and QTS Troon II.

SVL 2

The Men’s triangulars will see new team Ayrshire College thrown in at the deep end at home to South Ayrshire II and NUVOC III. Glasgow Mets II host their opponents from the cup, Livingston Lizards and Edinburgh Jets II in what will be a fierce day of competitive volleyball.  Finally, NUVOC II will welcome Islanders Shetland in their first outing in the Scottish Volleyball League and also a University of Edinburgh side buoyed by their victory in the British Universities Premier League on Wednesday.

SVL Week 2 is extremely busy and will provide a platform for a lot of new teams to compete in the Scottish Volleyball League.
