CEO of Scottish Volleyball elected to FIVB Board

On Saturday February 6th 2021, the FIVB World Congress elected 24 Board members and two Gender-in-Minority Board members who will join the FIVB President and the five Continental Confederation Presidents to form the new Board of Administration. These include eight from Europe plus Ms Margaret Ann Fleming MBE, Scottish Volleyball CEO of Scotland and CEV Vice President, as one of the two Gender-in-Minority Board members.

This is a great achievement for our CEO Margaret Ann Fleming MBE. Soon after the end of congress, Margaret Ann said “I am delighted with this accomplishment. It is excellent news for federations who come from a small country as I do. I am very much looking forward to working towards developing Scottish, European and World Volleyball!”.

Other two Scottish Volleyball members were present at the 37th World Congress. Our President of the Board, Scott Borthwick and Sandy Steel, Scottish Volleyball Board Director, participated in this weekend long event, respectively representing Scotland and the FIVB Refereeing and Rules Commission. For the first time it was held online and as the President Ary Graca highlighted, it shows the unity of the volleyball family that can be achieved through the new FIVB media and technology platforms.
