Following the Scottish Government announcement on Tuesday 21st December, enhanced measures will be put in place for a period of up to 3 weeks, commencing on Sunday 26th December 2021. These measures include the suspension of non-professional/non-elite Indoor Contact Sports for adults. For the purpose of the Return to Sport Guidance, we can confirm that this includes indoor volleyball for adults.
(For further information regarding professional/elite sport please refer to the relevant section in sportscotland Guidance for Performance Sport).
This will affect the scheduled resumption of our indoor Senior National League and Scottish activity in January. All matches scheduled to take place between the 26th December and the 16th January are to be postponed.
All indoor Junior (under 18 years) activity and outdoor volleyball (for all ages) planned during this period, can continue during this 3 week period. Please note that facility operators may have revised guidance in place during this time, including 1m physical distancing reintroduced in all gym and leisure centre settings.
We will revise our full Play it Safe guidance document in the new year and in the meantime will keep you up to date with any changes to the situation outlined above.
We ask that all clubs, players, coaches, volunteers and spectators, continue to follow any new Scottish Government guidance issued during this period.
