Simon LoftusThe changing face of the Women’s YS Programme

Simon Loftus recently announced that he was stepping down from his position as Head Coach of the YS Women’s Programme.  Simon has been a ‘champion’ of this programme, overseeing its growth and development for the past four years.  He has worked tirelessly with his Staff and the players to raise the profile of the programme and the performance standard of the players.  His efforts, insights, and coaching expertise have helped generate immense enthusiasm and commitment from all concerned.

The Scottish Volleyball Association would like to acknowledge Simon’s outstanding efforts, offer a very great vote of thanks for his commitment to the Scottish game, and wish him every fortune in his continuing career.

Meanwhile…….

Ian ParkerThe role of Head Coach with the YS Women’s Programme will be continued by Ian Parker for the interim period leading up to the International matches scheduled for the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow in December.

Ian is well versed in the structure and philosophy of the YS Women’s Programme, having been involved as part of Simon Loftus’ staff for the past three years, and also having extensive experience the UK School Games Programme.  It is hoped that the  transition will be seamless as the squad prepares for the challenges to come in December.

Meanwhile………

Jillian GallowayIan Parker has moved immediately to firm up his coaching staff by adding the skills and experiences of Jillian Galloway to the talents of Linda Anderson the YS Programme Manager.  Jillian, who is the Captain of Division I side Glasgow Mets and an SVA Staff Tutor, will join the squad as an Assistant Coach.  She will bring her experience as a successful National League player and Head Coach of the Glasgow Junior Development Academy to the group, and help support both Ian and the players.
