The final event of the 2009 Scottish Beach Volleyball Tour takes place on Sunday 16th August on the West Sands, St Andrews. This summer has been a fantastic one for weather and we hope to have more of the same for Sunday.
Run by the newly formed St Andrews Beach Volleyball Club, The King and Queen of the Beach format is a different format to a usual beach volleyball tournament and it’s a great way to finish the season off, with players entering on their own to test their skills with and against pairings that haven’t met before. Each player plays in a pool of 4 and plays with every other player against the other 2 players. Players amass points and the top 2 points scorers in the pool progress to the next round.
If you haven’t played beach volleyball before, or don’t have a regular partner on the Scottish Tour, then this is a great event to have a go and see what all the fuss is about! For those who have played a bit, it’s a great opportunity to play with some of the top players on the tour and maybe pick up a few tips. It should make for a fun and interesting day!
Entry categories are Men, Women, Junior Men and Junior Women. Enter online at http://www.scottishvolleyball.org/beach/login. Deadline for guaranteed entry is Wednesday 12th August at 5pm. Entries received after the deadline will be allowed entry if there are spaces left in the draw.
Hope to see you on the sand!
