2 Clubs Vying for Aviva Funding

City of Edinburgh and NUVOC Volleyball Clubs have made applications to the Aviva Community Fund for £25,000 & £1,000 respectively to finance a permanent beach court facility in South Queensferry and Junior Development in the NUVOC catchment area.

The projects with the most votes at the end of the voting period will go before a panel of judges who will decide which projects will be awarded the funds.

To vote, people must register with the Aviva Community Fund website. Anyone over the age of 13, with an email address and who lives in the UK can vote.

Crucially, every person has 10 votes!

This a fantastic opportunity for these Clubs and the wider Volleyball community.

Both projects have passed the initial stage, and is now open to voting through the links below until the 20th November.

Ian Brownlee, Head of Club said “Community Funding from Aviva for beach volleyball facilities in South Queensferry would have a massive impact on the lives of hundreds of volleyball athletes of all ages in our community who would be able to access beach volleyball more often and locally and it would make beach volleyball accessible to all the local schools and community.”

NUVOC have specific aims for their project “We want to run more sessions for children and adults in local schools and sports centres to raise the profile of the sport and give more people the chance to have a go at volleyball. We already work with local schools in a number of ways: we provide coaches for weekly after-school clubs, and run volleyball taster sessions on an ad hoc basis”.
