Scottish Duo Head to Andorra

“The A Team head for Andorra”

Ayr and Aberdeen beach pair David Mexson and Euan Fraser, fresh from their gold medal success at Cardiff last week, jet off to compete in the CEV Small Countries Association Beach Junior Championships in Andorra la Vella this weekend (16/17 August)

The Lads fly to Barcalona followed by a 2½ hr road trip to Andorra’s capital city located high in the Pyrenees Mountains.

David and Euan will face challenging opposition with teams from Andorra, Liechtenstein and Catalonia also participating.

The Scottish pair are regular competitors in the Mens National Beach Tour where they currently lead the U18 League and sit fourth in the Senior Mens League.  So far this year they have competed in events in Portobello, St Andrews, Ayr, Troon, Broughty Ferry and have already gained sufficient points to qualify for the Senior Mens National Beach Volleyball Championships at Portobello on 7th September.

The boys are hungry for success and aim to push the senior men all the way to the end of the season.  Perhaps a podium finish is not that far away?

We wish these talented young athletes all the very best as they show-case Scottish Junior Beach Volleyball on the International Stage.
