NEW SVA STAFF APPOINTMENT

Scottish Volleyball is delighted to announce the recruitment of Ben Pipes, as our new Club & Participation Development Officer, beginning his work with the SVA on Monday 28th of August 2017.

Ben brings a host of experience from within Volleyball and business into our Association and offers extensive experience in club development, performance sport, project management, event planning and educational initiatives.

Ben Pipes with Scotland International Shona FraserOne of the Ben’s biggest personal and playing achievements throughout his career was to captain the Men’s indoor GB team at London 2012. After this phenomenal success Ben furthered his professional playing career with qualifications and experience in many countries around Europe. His acquired knowledge will be a fantastic addition to Scottish Volleyball and strengthen the capacity of the office to deliver our Bigger, Better Stronger 2017-21 Strategic Plan.

The Club & Participation role will incorporate all aspects of School and Junior Volleyball and also a new focus on supporting district volleyball. As a former director of Volleyball at Leaf Academy and long term roles with Sky Sports and Youth Sport Trust, Ben will be ideally placed to support junior and school clubs in their development. 

Ben leaves his roles as an athlete mentor with the Dame Kelly Homes Trust to take up the post. He will start at the end of August and we look forward to welcoming Ben into the team and into the Scottish Volleyball family.
