Men’s and Women’s National Team host Coaching CPD & Matches

As part of the men’s and women’s National Team’s preparation for the SCA Final’s at the end of the season, they are hosting matches on Sunday 20th January at Linlithgow Academy against Team Northumbria.  The teams have already competed in friendly matches at the start of the season in Newcastle and all of the teams will be looking to gauge their progress since October.

Whilst both Northumbria teams can boast a raft of players from around the world, Scotland’s own Jack McKelvey will be playing for his club side whilst competing against his NT team mates.

Both matches promise to be exciting encounters with all the players on show for Team Northumbria currently training full time as part of their scholarship programme.

If you would like to come and see the matches entry is free with the Women’s game
up first followed by the men’s fixture.  All matches will be five sets long regardless of score so plenty exciting volleyball to see.

SWNTP v Team Northumbria – First ball served @12 noon
SMNTP v Team Northumbria – First ball served @ 3pm

Whilst both the SMNTP and SWNTP go head to head with Team Northumbria on Sunday 20th January, there is an opportunity for SVA registered coaches (or teachers) to work with the current NT coaches during both matches.

Anyone who wishes to further their understanding of statistics used by the NT staff are invited to watch the first match and become involved in statistic taking and how it is used to inform the decision the coaches take and how they use the information to inform their practice sessions post match.

Any participating coaches will work in small groups with the NT staff and have the opportunity to ask questions as well as take their own stats and discuss how they can be used.

The cost of the CPD session will be £5.

Any coaches or teachers interested in attending should contact our Coaching Manager.
