British Volleyball launches website

British Volleyball LogoOn behalf of the British Volleyball Federation (BVF) I would like to welcome you to our website www.britishvolleyball.org.   Since the decision by the IOC in July 2005 to award the Olympic and Paralympic Games for 2012 to London, the BVF, in partnership with the Home Nations NGB’s of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with funding from the National Lottery and UK Sport, has been working hard to develop our teams for Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Sitting Volleyball, in order to prepare for their participation in London 2012. Although recent decisions on reduced funding have set real challenges for all our programmes we are doing everything we can to remain on track, although we are very aware that the countdown to London seems to be going very quickly.

High Performance Programmes have been established and are currently located at the EIS-Sheffield and in the University of Bath, and are tasked with the development of our Olympic and Paralympic Squads with a key objective of ensuring effective and successful participation in all Volleyball disciplines in 2012.

We are gearing up for the fast approaching summer 2009 international competition schedule for all of our teams, and we hope you will follow our progress, both on this site, those of the Home Nations, and in person when you share the journey with us by attending, or lending your support to some of the planned events this coming summer, it promises to be an exciting journey. We look forward to seeing you there and will try to slow the clock so that we can find time to keep you fully up to date.

Kind regards

Kenny Barton
Performance Programme Manager
