Make sure to register on the Membership database here!

Find here a message from our CEO Margaret Ann Fleming regarding this online learning opportunity!

“Good afternoon,

I hope you and your loved ones are well and staying safe during these testing times.  I wanted to reach out to our membership again after the positive feedback from last week’s short video.

As you know our staff are working remotely and I am delighted to be able to announce the launch of an exciting programme of online training and events for our membership.

Your development team has been working hard on this and we hope you will all engage in some, if not all, of the learning.

The programme extends over the next three months and covers three key areasThis month our focus is on Welfare and launches with an online course on 9th April which the SVA has subsidised and I would urge all members to get involved in.

Hopefully like myself you all see this as an ideal opportunity to review your Safeguarding & Well-being Policy and that your development team will be providing lots of support & resources to do this during April.

May will see the training spotlight move towards Clubs and Club development.

We are delighted to have engaged the services of Active Advantage who will be providing four online training courses around this topic.  These courses are being fully funded by the SVA, but spaces are limited so please sign up as soon as possible.  These training courses should help you review your constitution and development plan over this time away from the court.

The focus for June is around coaching and again we have some online training for coaches and digital forums to discuss best practice around planning and delivery.  There will also be an opportunity for those who didn’t make the roadshows to hear about the new coach licence scheme.

At the end of each month the SVA staff will host an open question and answer session on Zoom which will allow a fantastic opportunity to share best practice and reflect on the months learning.

Our team is working hard, and we will have some more exciting progress to share with you soon around other areas of the organisation.  I am in constant communication with other sporting bodies in Scotland and numerous volleyball associations throughout Europe to make sure we are doing all we can to ensure Scottish Volleyball emerges from this period in the strongest position possible.  I would like to thank you all for your support and understanding whilst wishing you and your family all best.

Stay home, stay safe.”
