Volleyball World announce exciting Beach Pro Tour for 2023!

The Beach Pro Tour calendar for 2023 has been announced with 18 Futures events across Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania already confirmed as athletes and fans alike can look forward to the return of beach volleyball festivities both on and off the sand. The Futures events are the third-level of event on the FIVB Beach Pro Tour and 2022 saw Scottish Athletes compete at fourteen events through the summer in Europe.

The 2023 Beach Pro Tour season will get underway at Mt. Maunganui Beach in New Zealand from 16-19 March, before the tour continues in Oceania and Asia with stops in Australia, Tahiti (French Polynesia), and Thailand. The tour will later return to the continent with an event in Tuan Chau Island, Vietnam in June, and a stop in Qidong, China in August.

The first of the European Futures events will kick off in May in Madrid, as in 2022. The Spanish capital will host men’s and women’s standalone Futures events on 11-14 May and 18-21 May, respectively. The tour will then land in Cervia, a popular Italian seaside resort, in late May. Scottish Athletes can also look forward to a potential to return to some venues, with Futures events due to return in Lecce, Italy; Ios Island, Greece; Leuven, Belgium; Myslowice and Warsaw in Poland, as well as Baden, Austria.

Head Coach and Head of Programme, Felipe Humana-Paredes, commented, “We’re very excited about the announcement of the Beach Pro Tour Futures Events, as they are the testing grounds for our high performance athletes and an important part of our long term goals and growth as a program.”

“The European Futures are a great litmus test for our program, to compete against strong international teams in conjunction with building our program to bigger and better standards.”

In addition to the European Futures, Africa is set to host its first Beach Pro Tour event with a men’s and women’s Futures tournament in Bujumbura, Burundi.
