Through this Pandemic and everyone’s patience within lockdowns and restrictions, Scottish Volleyball has been working hard behind the scenes on their organisational governance. Specifically supporting our commissions to rejuvenate the needs of the business, with the goal of creating opportunities for all members to be involved in the decision-making processes of the National Governing Body.
The main focus of this change is to reshape the previously named Youth & Schools Commission, with the support of the Scottish Volleyball Board, into a new focussed commission with specific working groups feeding into this commission.
With Scottish Volleyball’s vision and willingness to give young people a voice, we have now created the ‘Young People & Participation Commission’. This commission reports directly to the Scottish Volleyball Board.
We now have opportunities to fill the Working Groups below. These working groups shall support the work and delivery of the Young People & Participation Commission:
- Young Person’s
- Youth Aged Programmes
- Safeguarding & Wellbeing
These 4 Working Groups will all contribute to the main working of the business with the opportunity to deliver a sustainable sport and deliver new experiences for our current and future members.
As a phased approach to recruitment, we are now looking for young people from the age of 16-24 years old who are seeking an opportunity to develop themselves and contribute to the future of Scottish Volleyball.
The following posts within the Working Group are available:
- Education & Training
- Fundraising / Sponsorship
- Playing Opportunities
